Since the Klairโ€™s Soft Airy UV Essence is my HG sunscreen, I am really excited to try the newly launched Klairโ€™s โ€˜Mid Day Blue UV Shieldโ€™. While I love their ๐’๐จ๐Ÿ๐ญ ๐€๐ข๐ซ๐ฒ ๐”๐• ๐„๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž (a chemical sunscreen which is so airy and light, non-greasy, no white cast and has brightening effects), the new Klair’sย Mid Day Blue UV Shield is a physical sunscreen containing mineral UV filters that reflect UVA & UVB rays. Once again, Klair’s have outdone themselves with this new physical sunscreen. Read along the Klair’s Mid Day Blue UV Shield Review to find out why this is quickly becoming a summer favorite of many.

Klair's Mid Day Blue UV Shield

What is in this?

The Klair’s Mid Day Blue UV Shield is a physical sunscreen that is hydrating, lightweight, and non-irritant. Formulated with mineral UV filters – zinc oxide and titanium dioxide that help reflect UVA/UVB sun rays.

Additionally, this also contains a star ingredient Guaiazulene that helps in cooling, soothing, and calming the skin.

More about Klair’s Mid Day Blue UV Shield

The Klair’s Blue UV Shield is said to be suitable for sensitive skin. The blue hue of the sunscreen comes from Guaiazulene which has great soothing and calming benefits.

Listed as the last ingredient is ‘fragrance’ and you might be wondering how this sunscreen can be ideal for sensitive skin if it contains ‘fragrance.

According to Wishtrend’s website, the natural scent from the ingredients formulated in the sunscreen carried a peculiar fragrance, and to combat this issue a very small portion of the “allergen-free” fragrance has been added.

Summary of some features of this new sunscreen:

  • This is a physical sunscreen with SPF 50+ PA++++
  • It contains mineral UV filters (zinc oxide and titanium dioxide) that protect the skin from UVA/UVB rays.
  • It contains Guaiazulene (just like the loved Midnight Blue Cream) that helps calm the skin.
  • Lightweight formula, semi-matte finish, zero white cast
  • Vegan-friendly, cruelty-free

My Thoughts

The texture of this sunscreen is a little thinner and runnier as compared to their Soft Airy UV Essence. The application is smooth with a slight tone-up effect and a powdery smell. The scent does fade away and it is not bothering for me. Like its predecessor, this does not feel heavy or greasy. Initially, the finish is almost similar to their Soft Airy UV Essence but after a while, the Mid Day Blue UV Shield sets down to a semi-matte finish.

For a person like me who does not wear foundation, this sunscreen feels like an ideal tone-up primer + sunscreen. I have a medium tone skin and this did not leave behind a white cast. Instead of using a huge amount at once, I would suggest using the appropriate amount first and then layering it.

Throughout the day, this sunscreen felt semi-matte and was not too drying for my skin (I have dry skin but I do moisturize my skin well). I think this will be ideal for both dry and oily skin types.ย Although I am liking this sunscreen for the summer, I think I would prefer the Klair’s Soft Airy UV Essence for the wintertime.

Conclusion

Probably one of their strongest features is that Klair’s is a brand that focuses not only on cruelty-free but is also vegan. This sunscreen feels light and perfect for the summer. One of the biggest plus points of this sunscreen is that it remains semi-matte throughout the day. There is no pilling or greasiness which is something we all seek for especially during the hot summer days.

Klair’s Mid Day Blue UV Shield is definitely a summer must-have!!
