For the longest time, I used to think eye creams were just a gimmick, probably because the eye creams I was using then were not effective. But this misconception changed completely after using I’m From Ginseng eye cream. Having seen improvements with the ginseng eye cream, I wanted to feel fancy and add an eyepatch to my routine. Hehe! I had been searching for a good eye patch and since I was seeing these Petitfee hydrogel eye patches everywhere, I decided to try them. Plus they are super affordable.

petitfee black pearl & gold hydrogel patch

What is in this?

These hydrogel eye patches, like its name, contains black pearl extract and 24K gold as its key ingredients. It is infused with pearl powder that is rich in over 20 kinds of minerals, amino acids, and calcium. The ingredient list for this tiny eye patch is so lengthy. Phew!! Some notable goodie ingredients in this are HA (hyaluronic acid), cucumber fruit extract, aloe leaf extract, allantoin, green tea leaf extract, Houttuynia Cordata Extract (my favorite), and mugwort extract. However, this does have fragrance and the fragrance of this is a little too overpowering for me. Luckily, the fragrance fades away when you use the patch.

How I use it?

These patches claim to soothe and relieve puffy eyes while at the same time hydrate and rejuvenate the eye area. I use this after my serum step and these do adhere well to the skin. I have been using this as the only treatment for the eye area and sometimes I use this after my ginseng eye cream. (I do allow the ginseng eye cream to soak in fully before applying these as if not doing so may cause the eye patch to slip). This does come in with a spatula which makes it easy to pick up one of these. Also, these come in super handy when doing a face sheet mask session. Kinda like double masking!!

Results:

The texture of this is super gelatinous and it has a cooling sensation. After 15 mins, upon removal, my under eye area felt smoothened out. Kinda a surprise because I was not expecting much out of this. These left my eye area feeling hydrated, supple and as I said, my under eye area felt smooth. For my first eye patch, this feels good and I am ready to explore more on eye patches. Also, adding a good eye patch in a routine looks so fancy I think. 😀
