I have profound love and respect for the brand I’M FROM. Prior, I was a sheet mask addict but the wash-off masks from I’M FROM have been a complete game-changer for me and now I prefer wash-off masks more.

From the simple yet pretty packaging to the carefully selected ingredients, these masks (Honey, Ginseng, Mugwort mask) have found a permanent place in my heart. I am short of one mask, i.e., the Volcanic Mask, to complete my collection. Though it is so hard to pick one favorite, if I had to choose one single favorite, then I think it would be the Ginseng Mask.

CLAIMS: -Brightening, Exfoliating, Moisturizing, Rejuvenating, Pore tightening, Skin Firming, Nourishing

What is in this?

The I’m From Rice Mask is a wash-off mask that is formulated with top quality Yeoju Rice (4.1%) and is packed with vitamin B1, B2, minerals, lysine, and amino acids, all of which are great in restoring the skin’s elasticity and firmness by tightening enlarged pores. Yeoju rice in Korea has been best known for its organic brightening property and it contains 3 times more dietary fiber than regular rice.

Other notable ingredients:

  • Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Argan oil – antioxidant
  • Shea butter, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Beta-Glucan (moisturizer)
  • Oat kernel extract (antioxidant, soothing)

The rice grains and the rice powder within the mask help in removing the dead skin cells and rejuvenates and transforms the skin to look more radiant and clear.

My Thoughts

Immediately upon opening the bottle, you cannot ignore the sweet, somewhat floral fragrance of this mask. The texture of this mask is soft, gooey. It contains bits of rice grains along with their shells for more intense exfoliation. This mask spreads easily, has a somewhat cooling effect, and melts slightly when massaged over the skin.

The first time when I used it, I think I scrubbed a bit too hard because when I applied a toner later, it stung my skin like crazy. So with this mask, I think it is best to massage with damp hands very GENTLY. I try to handpick the rice shells out before applying to make it a gentler exfoliant. After doing a slight massage, I left the mask for another 10 mins before washing it off.

Unlike the other masks, I had a bit of difficulty in washing this mask off. It leaves a residual film which I guess is from the shea butter that is present in this mask. The first time I think I used a bit too much of the product and hence it was difficult to get the residual film out. So, I think you don’t need to put a thick layer of this mask. Using a small amount, massaging gently with dampened hands is the ideal way to use this. However, the only thing I wish this mask didn’t contain is the rice shells, as they can be a bit too harsh and can scratch the skin. So I always do gentle minimal massage with damp hands so that the mask glides more smoothly.

I'm From Rice Mask

Having said this, the results were good. My skin looked BRIGHT, that was the first thing I noticed, felt supple, and looked radiant.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I think you only need a small amount of this mask, and it is best to use this with damp hands. However, I always have to do another round of cleansing after using this mask to remove the residual film. I feel that I’m From has far better masks other than this.
